Philippine pork imports increased 14% in 2024

Of the 1.3 million metric tons of meat imported by the Philippines, pork had the greatest import volume at 672,000 MT.

Over 1.3 million metric tons (MMT) of meat were imported from January to November 2024. This is an increase of 127,000 metric tons compared to 2023 (1.2 MMT), nearly reaching the record-high meat volume imports in 2022.

Pork had the greatest import volume at 672,000 MT and was followed by chicken at 435,501 MT; beef, 187,711 MT; buffalo, 35,219 MT; turkey, 1,272 MT; lamb, 613 MT; and duck, 208 MT.

Pork imports increased 14% in 2024, up nearly 80,000 metric tons compared to 2023 (591,000 MT). The top source of imported pork is Brazil, with 185,000 MT.
